Our Methodology & Transparency

In LabhTark we believe in being transparent with our methodology, which we are using for our analysis or recommendation, if any. This data is to improve transparency and confidence in users of LabhTark, as we have lots of summarised analysis and trend forecasts, and knowing how it is calculating the data or from where we are integrating data in our tool makes LabhTark more trustworthy.

Below are the different tools which we have in LabhTark.

Machine Learning-Based Trend Forecast of Each Stock

Description of Feature

Here the user can see the trend forecast of each stock of daily values. Here we are not attempting to predict stock prices for coming days, but we are extrapolating the trend with the help of machine learning, which helps traders to reduce the time taken in understanding the trend and seasonality of the stock in the short term.

Methodology

As we have more than 5,000 stocks listed in the Indian stock market, belonging to different sectors, each stock may have different patterns, seasonality and trends, so using a single method of extrapolation would not do justice for this task.

So we have incorporated multiple techniques of machine learning for trend forecasting. It takes each stock, applies the below list of machine learning models, backtests which method gives the best accuracy, and then uses the best model for the stock and extrapolates the values.

ARIMA SARIMA LSTM Holtwinters Exponential Smoothing Method Random Forest Polynomial Regression Linear Regression Moving Average
⚠️ Important Notice: One has to be always cautious while using the forecast of Labhtark and not confuse this feature with the price prediction of the stock, as this is an extrapolation of the trend of the stock for the short term.

Market Risk Status

Description of Feature

To feature is to check the current status of the whole market using the Nifty50 index as a reference and determine if the market is bullish, bearish or neutral, and to make it easy to understand, we have used terms like “Buying Signal”, “Neutral” and “Correction Risk”.

This helps investors to understand the current status of the whole market and then take further actions. However, users should not get confused with the terms “Buying Signal”, “Neutral”, and “Sell”, as these terms are used for better understanding and should not be taken as financial decisions solely based on these signals.

Methodology

Here we have incorporated a combination of the Nifty PE ratio and the Nifty VIX and analysed its historical behaviour and how the market behaves based on their combination of values. Below is the outcome of the historical analysis which we have incorporated for this feature.

PE > 26 and VIX > 30 High Correction Risk

Historically, if the PE ratio is greater than 26 and VIX is greater than 25, it indicates an upcoming market correction.

PE > 26 and 25 < VIX < 30 Moderate Correction Risk

Historically, if the PE ratio is greater than 26 and the VIX is greater than 25, it indicates an upcoming market correction.

PE > 26 and VIX < 25 Neutral

Historically, if the PE ratio is greater than 26 and the VIX is less than 25, it indicates a neutral market.

PE < 26 and VIX > 30 Neutral

Historically, if the PE ratio is less than 26 and the VIX is greater than 25, it indicates a neutral market.

15 < PE < 26 and 15 < VIX < 25 Buying Signal

Historically, if the PE ratio is less than 26 and VIX is less than 25, it indicates a buying signal.

PE < 15 and VIX < 15 Extreme Buying Signal

Historically, if the PE ratio is less than 26 and the VIX is less than 25, it indicates a buying signal.

Technical Analysis Summary

Description of Feature

To reduce time in analysing various technical indicators, we have incorporated various signals, like “entry point”, “stop loss”, “target”, and “holding period”. These values reduce the time to analyse various technical indicators like “Bollinger Bands”, “volume weighted average”, “RSI”, and “ATR” and determine those points.

Traders should use this point as a reference and perform their own analysis and not solely rely on these signals.

Methodology

Entry Point

This is an ideal price for this stock to take a long position, and any price below this price is better, and any price above this increases the risk.

Indicator Used: VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price)

VWAP is a moving average of the stock’s price but with the added weight of its daily volume so that investors/traders can determine if the current price is overpriced or underpriced according to its current volume and make a decision.

We suggest that users conduct their own analysis before taking any position in this stock and use the "Entry Point" data as a reference only, rather than relying solely on this data.

Stop Loss

Stop loss is a price at which the investor/traders limit their losses. As there is always a possibility that any investment strategy may fail, in that scenario investors should know where to exit, and this exit point is called stop loss.

Indicator Used: Bollinger Bands

The indicator used to calculate stop loss is Bollinger Bands, which show the volatility of stocks in the past 15-20 days. The lower band of the Bollinger Band acts as a support line for the stock for a short time period, and the probability of the stock falling below this price is less, and if it falls, traders should exit and take the loss to prevent further losses.

We suggest users perform their own analysis to take any position for this stock and use this "Stop Loss" data as reference only, not depend on this data solely.

Target

Target is a point that simply informs traders what the upper limit or resistance line of the stock is for a short period of time; using this, traders can determine when to exit to take maximum profits.

Indicator Used: Bollinger Bands

The indicator used to calculate the target is Bollinger Bands, which show the volatility of stocks in the past 15-20 days. The upper band of the Bollinger Band acts as a resistance line for the stock for a short time period, and the probability of the stock rising above this price is less, so traders should exit and take the maximum profits.

We suggest users perform their own analysis to take any position for this stock and use this "Target" data as reference only, not depend on this data solely.

Holding Period

Holding period is the number of days the stock may take to reach the target value.

Indicator Used: ATR (Average True Range)

The indicator used to calculate the holding period is "ATR (Average True Range)," which simply determines how much, on average, a stock's price moves daily. Using ATR and the target, it calculates the number of days stock may take to reach the target value.

We suggest users perform their own analysis to take any position for this stock and use this "Holding Period" data as reference only, not depend on this data solely.
